Eindhoven Airport is once again making a quality leap forward with new services and optimizations. A facelift of the security area, new Check In and Bag Tag kiosks and a new catering business on the landward side of the airport are planned. In addition, the service point for disabled passengers with a (in) visible disability was recently optimized and a new access post to the apron was completed.

The new security area is currently being redesigned at the airport; its appearance is also greatly improved. In addition, the routing to the security area is optimized. The new area will soon be accessible via a clearly recognizable entrance gate. Before travelers enter the security area, they are guided through the pre-scans that have been highlighted for better routing. The interventions create more peace and overview in the area for passengers and employees. This is important because the security process is a major process in airport operations while at the same time it is often a stress point for passengers at the start of their journey. In addition, a clear and pleasant environment is important for the employees on site. The new security area will be ready in mid-March.

Check In and Bag Tag Kiosks

An additional service for the passengers at the airport are the six Check In kiosks and five Bag Tag kiosks in the terminal (land side). At the self-service Check In kiosks, passengers can perform various airline services such as check-in, seat selection and printing a boarding pass. Initially, the Check In kiosks are only available to Transavia and TUI passengers. The Check In kiosks are an addition to the manned Check In counters. These counters remain available for handling complex bookings, for example. At the Bag Tag kiosks, passengers print a self-adhesive baggage tag for hold baggage, after which the baggage can be checked in at the self-service drop-off counters. These Bag Tag kiosks are available for all airlines. Making the self-service kiosks available ensures faster and more efficient handling. The kiosks are expected to be gradually available to passengers over the course of January. Where necessary, more kiosks will be added later in 2021.

The service point at the airport for disabled passengers with a (non) visible disability (Mobility Assistance) on the airside (after security) has recently been optimized. The space has been expanded so that there is more room for wheelchairs and companions. In addition, the appearance has been modernized and two flight information screens have been hung. The signing has also been adjusted, making it a clearly recognizable and easy to find zone. A new service desk (near gate 6) has also been added.

STRIPE

New at the airport in the landside terminal is the STRIPES catering facility, which will open in mid-December. The successor to Farm Coffee 'breathes' Eindhoven. The industrial / urban 'look & feel' of the business suits the city of Eindhoven. It is no coincidence that the name refers to Strijp S, a typical urban place in the heart of the city. The catering business with a bar, lounge and an outdoor terrace mainly offers products from local suppliers. The business is run by the Vermaat Group.

The new access post to the apron was opened at the airport in November. The new building of this so-called main gate station - which is used by many employees and suppliers - is spacious and can therefore handle more vehicles and employees. The building is furnished with a double vehicle lock and a separate exit from the platform to the public road. The new building offers more comfort on all fronts for employees and suppliers who use it.

Strategy

By offering extra facilities and optimizing them, the airport offers even more quality to travelers and employees. This quality improvement is in line with Eindhoven Airport's strategy to focus on quality instead of quantity and to focus on further improving the quality of the airport. Eindhoven Airport reports this on them website with the above press release.
