Ebusco (Euronext: EBUS), a pioneer and frontrunner in the development of electric buses and charging systems, has signed a contract with Metropole Rouen Normandy, France, for a total of 80 Ebusco buses. France is a strategically important market for Ebusco and one of its key target markets in its international expansion strategy. The contract includes four Ebusco 2.2 buses, to be delivered by the end of 2022, and an option to purchase 76 additional Ebusco 3.0 buses, to be delivered in batches between 2023 and 2026.

Métropole Rouen Normandie (large region of the city of Rouen) is responsible as PTA (Public Transport Authority) for the purchase of the buses. The contract includes four 2.2-metre Ebusco 18 buses. In addition, the contract includes an option to purchase 76 Ebusco 3.0 18-metre buses. The French market represents a large number of transit buses installed and still has a relatively low penetration of electric buses. That is why France is one of the key target markets in Ebusco's international expansion strategy.

“We are very excited about this new contract. This is an important step in our international expansion. Not only are we significantly strengthening our position in the French market, it is also the largest order for our revolutionary 3.0 buses to date. The extended delivery schedule, over a four-year period, also supports visibility and efficient planning in production capacity. Ebusco and Metropole Rouen Normandie are determined to join forces to demonstrate the benefits of an all-electric transit network in France.”

The high capacity of the batteries combined with the competing TCO were important considerations for Metropole Rouen Normandy to Ebusco according to the developer of electric buses.
