Volvo Cars recently reported sales of 54.317 cars in October, up 6,9% from the same month last year. Overall underlying demand for the company's vehicles remains strong, especially for the Recharge range of all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

The company's Recharge models accounted for 36,8% of sales last month. Fully electric vehicles accounted for 15% of total sales. In the January-October period, Volvo Cars' retail sales amounted to 483.304 cars, a decrease of 16% compared to the same period last year.

In Europe, 22.030 cars were sold in October, 0,4% less than in the same month last year. Sales of Recharge cars accounted for 64,9% of total sales in the region during the month. Volvo Cars sales in the US were 9.748, up 8,9% from October last year, with Recharge models accounting for 26,7% of total sales.

In China, October sales rose 36,7% to 15.048 cars compared to the same month last year, with Recharge models accounting for 6,1% of total sales. Volvo Cars' best-selling model for the month was the XC60 with sales of 17.531 cars (2021: 15.399), followed by the XC40 with 14.883 cars (2021: 13.987) and the XC90 with 7.651 cars (2021: 8.693), the company said.
