The purpose of the connection conditions is to guarantee that the ICT Service Provider has taken measures to guarantee the correctness, completeness and timeliness of data delivery.

The future of the taxi industry is being shaped in Eindhoven. Pitane Mobility, an innovative player in the mobility sector, is fully engaged in preparations and developments for the upcoming practical test. This commitment embraces the continuous collaboration between ICT service providers and the project team of the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT), with the ambition to offer a valuable alternative to the current On-Board Computer Taxi (BCT).

The preparations for Pitane Mobility have now entered a new phase, now that the interface specification is online. The Eindhoven-based company and its partners are working diligently to achieve API adoption, with flexibility and accessibility at the core of their strategy. Not a specific app or device is mandatory, but the way and frequency in which taxi companies provide their A&R data is important. This opens the door for cost-effective and easy-to-deploy solutions, such as apps that run on smartphones.

It is an impressive initiative that will certainly benefit taxi companies. By focusing on the accessibility of data and not on the specificity of the tools, companies can opt for cheaper, more efficient solutions. The ambition of Pitane Mobility is that all agreements, working methods, regulations and (ICT) facilities are fully operational by 2024. But from 1 October this year they hope to be ready with the technical implementation and their own ICT Service Provider portal. The company goes further than just preparing for the practical test; they also look at compliance with connection conditions.

Pitane Mobility's goals are also imbued with a robust focus on safety and reliability. The requirements for input and registration tools for drivers and entrepreneurs, as well as the requirements for the central application of the ICT Service Provider, are aimed at guaranteeing the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data delivery.

It is great to see how the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) and Pitane Mobility are working together to shape the future of the taxi industry. In the coming months, selected carriers will participate in the practical test, a milestone that will undoubtedly contribute to the further development of this project.

approach

The technical consultation is currently taking place in both groups and 1-on-1 sessions between participants and ILT. The approach of the ILT project group to maintain short lines of communication during the developments and to coordinate the technical environment is a new and progressive approach that promotes progress.

With their tight schedule and clear goals in mind, Pitane Mobility remains on track to deliver on their promise. It is their goal to ensure that taxi companies can enter basic data in a safe and reliable way. An important part of this is the merchant portal, a critical element designed to protect data from loss, observation and manipulation, while also facilitating the authentication of driver's licenses and vehicle registration cards.

Pitane Mobility's aim to influence the future of the taxi industry is clear. With the continuous preparations and developments for the upcoming field test and the focus on safety, reliability and efficiency, the Eindhoven company is well on its way to making a difference.

While much remains to be done, the steps taken so far are promising.

Pitane Mobility really shows that the future of the taxi industry is flexible, efficient and full of possibilities. We look forward to the continued progress and successes that will undoubtedly result from these efforts.

The Eindhoven software company Censys BV had previously announced that they will offer their Pitane Mobility software free of charge to entrepreneurs in the taxi sector for 90 days. This decision was taken in the run-up to the mandatory link to the Central Database Taxi (CDT) of the Dutch government. With this action, Censys BV hopes not only to facilitate the transition to the new digital systems, but also to help smaller entrepreneurs and freelancers get used to the new wave of automation. This initiative comes in preparation for the abolition of the current On-Board Computer Taxi (BCT) and paves the way for developments in the ICT sector.
