A breeding ground for the latest technological innovations, the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has put the future of mobility in the spotlight this year. From AI-powered cars to flying taxis, CES 2024 offered a fascinating look at what might await us in the transportation of the future.

The exhibition floor was filled with the latest developments in the field of autonomous vehicles. Major car manufacturers and technology companies presented their latest models and technologies that promise to change the way we drive and navigate. Equipped with advanced AI systems, these vehicles promise not only a safer driving experience, but also a reduction in traffic and increased efficiency in transportation.

Another highlight of the CES 2024 was the presentation of flying taxis. Various companies showed their prototypes and concepts for these revolutionary means of transport. These flying taxis, which use vertical take-off and landing capabilities, could provide a solution to increasing traffic congestion in cities. “Over the past seven years, Dutch startups have participated in an organized manner at the CES. For quite a few of these growth companies, this was their breakthrough. I am convinced of the Dutch level of knowledge and our innovative power. And these awards confirm that again. That is why we must continue to stimulate the Dutch startup and scale-up climate and focus on good cooperation between entrepreneurs and researchers, but also on attracting more venture investments.”

CES is the annual meeting place for more than 170.000 companies and investors from approximately 160 countries. The Netherlands participated in CES for the eighth time. The Consumer Electronics Show is the largest global tech fair and is held annually in Las Vegas, America.
