With a total investment of 80 million euros, the work, which will last at least two years, will be entrusted to the in-house company Toscana Costruzioni.

The Italian Civil Aviation Authority, ENAC, recently approved the construction of a new terminal at Pisa Airport, a milestone in the “Galileo Galilei” airport development plan 2014/2028. This development promises a significant boost for the airport, which is already among the top 10 Italian airports in terms of traffic volume.

The new terminal, with an area of 6.200 square meters, together with the redevelopment of the existing terminal, forms an expanded area of more than 12.000 square meters. This ambitious project, designed to be implemented in phases, ensures the continuity of airport operations. The airport, which received more than 2023 million passengers in 5,1, is on the eve of a major transformation.

With a total investment of 80 million euros, Toscana Costruzioni, a consortium consisting of Toscana Aeroporti and Cemes, is taking over the construction work. This investment reflects the scale and importance of the project. Toscana Costruzioni is known for its expertise in various sectors, including railway, energy, aviation and construction projects.

Roberto Naldi, CEO of Toscana Aeroporti, emphasizes the historic importance of this expansion: “This is the largest investment plan for Pisa Airport since the creation of Toscana Aeroporti.” He points to the company's significant financial commitment, with a total investment of more than 180 million euros in the airport since the start of their operations.

This development is crucial for the Italian aviation network. Toscana Aeroporti S.p.A., founded in 2015 following the merger of SAT (the management company of Pisa Airport) and AdF (the management company of Florence Airport), sees the expansion of Pisa Airport as essential for the growth of the airport system and the economic development of the region.

Pisa Airport's new terminal symbolizes a progressive step in the development of Italy's aviation infrastructure. With a focus on increasing capacity, efficiency and improving the passenger experience, the airport is poised to further strengthen its role as a major transport hub in Italy and Europe.

This expansion is more than physical growth, it is a promise of renewal and progress for the region and its residents. With the increasing flow of travelers and its strategic location, Pisa Airport promises a bright future as a central point in the European aviation network.
