Tool chain Mediworld has plans to open 100 new stores in the Netherlands. It is the turn of two branches in Brabant that are undergoing major renovation. The Dutch company is currently investing heavily in mobility. Since the company has partnered with a modern distribution center and fully implemented its automation, it can easily cope with the strong growth for the coming years.
Behind the company are three passionate entrepreneurs with a strong dose of global retail experience. Mediworld is a sales organization in the Netherlands, focused on mobility for the elderly and disabled. Mediworld, founded in 2019, has the ambition to open 5 stores in the Netherlands within 100 years. The head office of Mediworld Nederland is located in Etten Leur. Central purchasing takes place from the head office, as well as invoicing to the underlying store locations.
The aging of society requires solid advice
The aging population is increasing and Mediworld does not believe in the online sale of mobility scooters and aids. Of course, the retailer will use social media and its own online channels to increase its brand awareness, but that is not the focus. The focus of our concept is on hosting our customers. Our customers are in need of help and can naturally expect personal and thorough advice, according to a spokesperson for the retail chain.
“A person who is completely dependent on a wheelchair and, for example, misses a leg, cannot possibly find an aid via the internet for his mobility. The customers want solid advice and can test this in practice, ”said a spokesman
Customers of Mediworld are mostly people with walking difficulties, disabled or opting for a safe solution for safety reasons. When a bicycle or car no longer meets the personal mobility of the person in question, they are forced to look for another solution. Mediworld fills the gap in the market there. With driving skills training and outings, we really try to get our older customers out of their isolation and to be essential.
Opening new stores quickly
On November 1, Mediworld will open a new store in St. Willebrord. This location will have an area of over 200 square meters. More than a week later, on July 7, Mediworld opens a store of almost 300 meters at the Valpoort in Etten-Leur. All stores are provided with the same appearance. A large cozy coffee table in a modern yet peaceful environment should provide our customers with the peace and comfort you would expect in this industry.
Stores in Bergen op Zoom and Hoogerheide will follow in November, while stores in Zeeland and Noord Brabant will also be opened rapidly in December. A spokesperson for the chain says that another store may be opened in North Holland this year, but he does not want to announce where that will be. It is clear, however, that 40 stores will be opened in North Holland, South Holland and Utrecht next year. The chain hopes to eventually grow to 5 Mediworld stores in 100 years.
