Zilveren Kruis and the Netherlands Healthcare Transport Center (ZCN) have concluded an agreement for the total, national organization of seated patient transport. The agreement is for a period of at least 3 years and starts on January 1, 2020. This means that you will be taken by taxi to a healthcare provider, for example for kidney dialysis or radiation. Approximately 23.000 policyholders use this annually.

ZCN is ultimately responsible and takes care of the ride intake, information provision, quality control and administrative processing. For the execution of the transport, ZCN uses a wide-ranging and stable network of fixed carriers throughout the Netherlands.

Olivier Gerrits, Director of Healthcare Purchasing for Zilveren Kruis:

“With ZCN, the control of seated patient transport is in one hand for our policyholders. ZCN is an experienced and professional transport organization with a wide network of carriers. As a director, she will take care of the general demand of our insured persons for seated patient transport in the Netherlands and monitor the quality and service of the services provided to our insured persons. ”

This Zilveren Kruis contract for the transport of insured persons also applies to insured persons of Interpolis, FBTO, Pro Life and De Friesland.

“We are happy and proud of achieving this wonderful result. We stand for (un) ordinary good transport, which the insured can count on. In our view, how we treat the insured is the most important part of our services. Communication is the key to success. Our employees of the customer contact center and the drivers are our ambassadors who make the first contact with the insured, ”says Laurens van Remortele, director of ZCN.

ZCN invests heavily in training communication skills and supports this process with modern means of communication and ICT solutions. They will carefully inform everyone about our approach this fall and ensure a smooth transition.

Local binding

ZCN works in the Netherlands with 130 carriers in 65 regions (zip code areas). There are two basic carriers and a backup carrier in each region. In addition, the insured can nominate us with his own carrier. Because if an insured person was already very satisfied with a particular carrier, we want to keep this carrier for the insured. The applicable collective labor agreement also neatly stipulates that drivers can move along to a possible new carrier.
