The Greek Ministry of Tourism announced the decision that flights to and from Athens and Thessaloniki will resume with most of 29 countries in mid-June. Greece will reopen its doors to tourism from June 15, but many countries are not on the list of countries whose citizens can go on holiday to Greek territory.

After closing the borders to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, the Athens government has now released the list of countries whose citizens can enter the country from June 15.

The Netherlands was partnered with countries, such as the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Portugal, Spain and Italy, excluded who were severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The countries whose citizens can travel to Greece are: Germany, Austria, Denmark, Norway, Cyprus, Israel, Switzerland, Japan, Malta, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Australia, New Zealand, Macedonia, Albania, Estonia, Latvia, Lebanon , Lithuania, Hungary, South Korea, Serbia, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Finland.

The list of 29 countries has been compiled based on a study of the epidemiological profile of the countries of origin of the tourists, taking into account yesterday's announcements from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the relevant recommendation of the Infectious Diseases Commission.

This list from EASA can, however, be extended for the summer holidays. The Greek government said that this measure will be reviewed on July 1 and that new countries can be added to the list at that time. The EASA list is regularly updated. Schiphol, Eindhoven Airport, Maastricht Aachen Airport and Rotterdam The Hague Airport are still seen as airports in risk areas. This also applies to many airports in the United Kingdom and the United States.
