Major differences between government policies for bus companies within European borders. While Dutch bus companies in The Hague argued for more clarity, and returned home at the end of the day without any commitment, full touring coaches are again allowed on the roads in Belgium and the demonstration of bus companies in Germany was immediately rewarded with the government's commitment that significant support is on the way.

The end result of the largest demonstration ever in the German coach industry was the announcement by Federal Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer that financial support for bus companies is on the way from Berlin. The 170 million euros that the BDO already calculated in May and has since been finally approved by the entire coalition government.

aid will be available in July

The money comes from the budget of the Federal Ministry of Transport. BDO President Hülsmann thanked the Federal Minister for Transport and the politicians for transport, tourism and the budget of the entire government coalition after long negotiations for their efforts to preserve bus companies and for environmentally friendly mobility. As early as July, the money would be available to bus companies that have been particularly hard hit by the Corona crisis and who have been deprived of any income opportunities with a full driving ban as of March 17.
