With the Covid-19 pandemic, car maker Groupe Renault suspended sales and industrial operations in most countries from mid-March and Groupe Renault saw car sales fall by 2020 percent in the first half of 34,9 to 1.256.658 cars. The decrease in sales volume of car maker Groupe Renault was mainly due to high exposure to countries that have undergone a strict lockdown. Groupe Renault is the parent company of Lada, Dacia, Alpine, Renault and Renault Samsung motors.

Electric vehicle: ZOE leader in a growing market

Sales volume of the electric Renault Zoe rose by 38 percent worldwide, with more than 42.000 vehicles sold in the first half. In Europe, ZOE is the best-selling car with sales growth of almost 50 percent to 37.540 cars, reaching record levels in June with nearly 11.000 orders.

In Europe, sales of the Groupe Renault 623.854 cars, a decrease of 41,8 percent. The group successfully renewed all its B-segment models under the Renault brand (Clio, Captur and ZOE). The New Renault Clio was the top-selling B-segment vehicle in Europe in the first half of the year, with 102.949 units sold.
