What do we all need for sun, sea and sand. With the warmer months approaching, Everyone wants to get out and about again. And because it is still uncertain regarding summer holidays and corona, the beaches in our country will become a favorite place with good weather for many Dutch people. The Dutch Railways reports that from April, if good weather is forecast, more trains will be used to Zandvoort aan Zee on weekends and on public holidays and holidays. These additional trains to sea will be deployed until October. Previously, these trains only ran from June to September, but last year, with the beautiful spring weather, there was already a need for extra beach trains. That is why the Dutch Railways is already using beach trains before, to prevent crowded trains from running to the beach. Normally there are two Sprinters per hour / per direction between Amsterdam Centraal and Zandvoort. Since last year, four extra Sprinters are running between Haarlem and Zandvoort in June, July and August.

These 4 extra Sprinters will now be deployed from this spring on weekends and on public holidays and holidays if the weather forecasts are good, in the direction of Zandvoort. These extra trains will not run if no good weather is forecast and fewer travelers are expected to go to sea. Beachgoers can therefore travel to the seaside resort six times an hour during this period when the weather is nice. The NS has been a new registration service since last year (Train pointer) started. Travelers can register their trip here in advance, which gives them more insight into the expected crowds on the train and also gives the traveler a signal if the train seems to be getting busier or if it breaks down.
