The fifteenth edition of Alpe d'HuZes will again be canceled and will be definitively postponed to 2022. Just like last year, that is due to the corona virus. There will be a special raffle on Thursday 3 June and the organization is calling on everyone to get started on Saturday 25 September, sponsored. This to be able to continue to support cancer research.

“The fact that Alpe d'HuZes is canceled again this year due to the corona pandemic is sour,” says George Coppens, interim chairman of Alpe d'HuZes. “The traditional first Thursday in June comes too early and moving from Alpe d'HuZes to September is also unwise. As much as many would like to, there are too many restrictions, ambiguities and open ends - here and in France - due to corona to organize a safe and responsible event. ”

Alpe d'HuZes is an event in which up to 5000 cyclists, runners and walkers climb the French mountain Alpe d'Huez a maximum of six times in one day. They use it to raise money for cancer research and for improving the quality of life of people with cancer. The first edition was in 2006. About 45.000 people die of cancer in the Netherlands every year.
