Fieldlab Events asks for quick clarity for one-day events that are still on the calendar. The organization calls it "extremely sour" that all multi-day festivals with overnight stays cannot continue until at least September 1. “It is good for the industry that there is now clarity about this, although it is of course not what it would have wanted," said a Fieldlab spokesperson. “It is hoped that clarity will soon become available about the one-day events."

For one-day festivals after August 13 and other multi-day festivals after September 1, it remains to be seen whether they can continue. A decision on this will be taken in the coming weeks and communicated at the upcoming corona press conference on August 13.

Test Festivals

Fieldlab Evenementen set up various test events during the corona crisis. It looked at how events can be organized in a safe way. For example, in March two test festivals took place on the Lowlands site in Biddinghuizen. In total, 129.000 people attended the events, with 103 possible corona infections.

Earlier this month, Fieldlab called the plans to curb festival life "a slap in the face". At the time, the organization found it particularly unfortunate that, despite thorough research, the cabinet had not adopted all the recommendations.
