There will be no flights at Maastricht Aachen Airport at several times in the coming days. This is due to the tight schedule of air traffic controllers, the airport announced.

The interruption is from Thursday to next Sunday between 06.00:07.00 and 10.00:11.00, 13.30:15.30 to XNUMX:XNUMX and XNUMX:XNUMX to XNUMX:XNUMX. The airport has consulted to reschedule scheduled flights. It is not clear whether flights will be canceled as a result of the interruptions, a spokeswoman for MA said on Thursday.

The shortage of air traffic control is a known problem. A spokesman for Air Traffic Control the Netherlands said on Thursday that there is no single cause for the interruptions at MAA. He spoke of a "confluence of circumstances". You cannot fly air traffic controllers from other parts of the Netherlands to MAA. "We cannot have someone from Groningen work in Maastricht," said the spokesperson.

According to MAA, the times at which it is not possible to land or depart have been coordinated in close consultation with the airlines. “We looked at moments with the least possible impact for customers and partners,” said the MAA spokeswoman.
