NS is continuously working on innovation and improvement. The new timetable of the Dutch Railways has been in effect since last Sunday. More trains run in this timetable and there are faster connections, which means that many regions in our country are even better connected to each other. For example, there are two new ten-minute trains between Rotterdam – Leiden – Schiphol and Schiphol – Utrecht – Nijmegen. There are also more trains in Zeeland, three trains per hour instead of two. Because one intercity only serves the major cities of Zeeland, it is a lot faster. These adjustments make traveling to and from Zeeland a lot faster and more pleasant.

"NS looks back with satisfaction on the start of the new timetable. Few problems have arisen. Although you can see that more trains on the track also make the timetable more sensitive. NS monitors this closely with ProRail."

The use of a fast intercity train between Vlissingen and Rotterdam has reduced the travel time by 19 minutes. Since the new timetable of the Dutch Railways came into effect, the NS-Travel Planner much more frequented. The changes in, among other things, departure times and connections were very noticeable for the travelers. Travelers can get advice via the NS-Reisplanner on how best and easiest they can travel to and from a certain destination. Travelers have visited the NS-Reisplanner by no less than 28 percent more in recent days than in the same period last week. On Monday, it was visited more than 1,1 million times. The NS also stood in various places in our country to point out the improvements that have been made to travelers.
