If you have an NS Flex subscription, you can immediately use the OV-fiets. You can check in the NS app how many bicycles are available in your area or at the station and easily travel from door to door. Various new functionalities for the OV-fiets have also been added to the NS app, making renting an OV-fiets even easier. It turns out that almost forty percent of train passengers come to the station by bicycle.
There are currently approximately 21.700 public transport bicycles in the Netherlands. You can rent such a bicycle at almost 300 rental locations throughout the Netherlands, at many stations, at bus or metro stops and at P+R areas. We see that public transport bicycles are particularly popular at weekends and that travelers mainly use public transport bicycles for social or recreational activities, such as visiting family or a day out. More and more travelers are using the OV-fiets in their door-to-door journey."
