If no agreement is reached, a nationwide strike will follow next week.

The Dutch railway company warns of major consequences of the strike. On Friday, the staff with the locations Leidschendam, Dordrecht, Leiden, The Hague and Rotterdam. Today's strike in the region around Rotterdam and The Hague will have much more consequences than the first strike in the north of the country.

In order to ensure that the rest of the timetable runs normally as much as possible, the NS is now not operating in the strike region at all. Trains therefore stop at the stations Alphen aan den Rijn, Hoofddorp, Gouda, Haarlem and Lage Zwaluwe. Trade unions FNV Spoor, VVMC and CNV have announced that they will stop working in the western Netherlands today. As a result, virtually no NS trains can run throughout the day in most of the province of South Holland. 

Thalys and Eurostar do run normally. The intercity to Brussels runs less often, but does stop in Rotterdam as usual. Use other transport or postpone your trip. There can be no buses be deployed. The Trip Planner has been updated. The strike regulation applies to travelers in South Holland who are affected by the strike.
