The actions are aimed at the Central Netherlands.

Trade unions FNV Spoor, VVMC and CNV will take action on Tuesday 30 August – the fourth day of the announced relay strike – as a result of which no NS trains will run in the Netherlands all day, with the exception of Amsterdam Central to Schiphol Airport and back. Eurostar and Thalys do run, other international trains do not run in the Netherlands. The trains of the regional carriers will also continue to run, with the exception of the Alphen-Gouda train service.NS recommends postponing the journey or arranging replacement transport yourself. No alternative bus transport can be used. The transport company is making every effort to keep Schiphol Airport accessible. During the action day, Schiphol Airport will remain accessible four times an hour via Amsterdam Central. Nevertheless, NS advises passengers to use alternative transport for Schiphol Airport.

The actions are aimed at the Central Netherlands. Many trains run to, from or through this area. In addition, Utrecht is a place where many NS employees start their working day. Employees normally run trains from Utrecht to all directions and many NS colleagues work on the daily coordination of personnel and trains for the entire country. If they stop working, this will have far-reaching consequences for the timetable throughout the Netherlands.

In previous strike days, NS has made every effort to provide a reliable and responsible timetable around the strike areas. Before the announced strike on Tuesday, they see no possibility to drive a timetable in a responsible manner.

The rail operator realizes that they make great demands on the understanding and self-reliance of the passengers. They find that extremely annoying. NS understands the concerns and the signal from the employees and that is why they would like to enter into a dialogue with the trade unions in order to achieve a good dog to come.
