A stroller was hit by a taxi driver on Kamperfoelieweg in Amsterdam on Tuesday, who then fled without caring for the five-month-old child. The shocking collision took place at around 17.15pm when a mother was crossing the zebra crossing with her three children, including the baby in the pram. The baby flew out of the car and ended up on the street, after which bystanders and emergency services came to help.

The mother had decided to walk across the busy road and then the scheduled bus lane. As she did so, a taxi maneuvered around the stopped vehicles and even went into the bus lane. The next thing that happened was a nightmare for every parent: the taxi hit the stroller, and then took off in the direction of Van der Spekstraat.

The taxi in question is described as a light gray Opel with five-spoke rims and a blue license plate. The driver is a man, and the vehicle may have damage to the right front side. Although the other children and the mother were unharmed, the incident brings growing concerns about road safety into sharper focus.
