Brabant business transport is entering a new era now that Ambutax and Willems Business Cars are visible together under the new name Vemo.

Ambutax, an established name in the Dutch transport sector, is celebrating almost six decades of innovation and growth. Founded in 1962 by Antoon and Leny van de Veerdonk, it started as a combination of taxi and ambulance company. This Veghel company, which expanded its activities with car rental in 1965, is known as the First Veghelse Car Rental Establishment. The name change in 1974 to Ambutax Veghel B.V. marked a significant milestone, establishing the company as the region's only private ambulance transporter and taxi company.

During the 90's Ambutax acquired several smaller taxi companies, making it the largest provider of seated patient transport in the area. The focus was not only on private individuals, but also on companies and medical logistics. This family business, now led by the third Van de Veerdonk generation, remains a leading player in providing customized passenger transport.

In July 2022 took Ambutax Willems Business Cars from Hoogeloon. This takeover, signed by Ambutax director Sjors van de Veerdonk and the Willems brothers, was a strategic move to strengthen the position in the region around Eindhoven, Den Bosch and Veghel. Willems Business Cars, also a family business with a strong reputation in executive transport, was taken over by Toon Willems in 1965 from his mother Drieka Willems-Roosen. Willems' two eldest sons took over in 1993.

From January 1, 2024, Ambutax and Willems Business Cars will merge under the new name Vemo. Despite the name change, the services and services remain unchanged. Ambutax Veghel will transform into Vemo Veghel B.V., while Willems Business Cars will from now on be known as Vemo Veldhoven B.V.
