The taxi platform Bolt, formerly known as Taxify, is a European transport platform offering rides by car and scooter sharing services. The company was founded by Markus Villig and launched in 2013. The company's mission is to make city traffic easier, faster and more reliable. Bolt is a competitor to Uber.

Better deal

The launch in Amsterdam and Haarlem is accompanied by a 50 percent discount on the first ten rides for all users. The starting rate for a Bolt taxi ride is € 1,40, the kilometer rate is € 1,20 and the rate per minute is € 0,26. Because Bolt operates efficiently and its drivers charge up to 50 percent less commission compared to the competition, both drivers and passengers get a better deal.
