Passengers with individual flight tickets, but also ANVR travel companies where the ticket is part of a package trip, are entitled to a refund for flights not performed by airlines. However, various airlines use false excuses and take too long to arrive. For ANVR companies, the measure is full and a first claim is ready for Royal Air Maroc via the court.

Airlines may offer the customer a voucher for a flight that has not been operated, but must also give the option to refund. The European Commission reminded airlines of this again in May. Many airlines are now doing this, but others still do not offer a refund of the paid ticket. Issued vouchers are also provided with the necessary travel restrictions. Requirements set by airlines include a voucher that is only valid for the same passenger, on the same route or on a date outside the previously booked high season. Some airlines do not even offer any refund, even after the voucher period has ended, withhold part of the amount or charge normal cancellation fees.

'Royal Air Maroc has been given a few more days from us to avoid the summons, but that did not produce the necessary result and so the summons is issued, said Walter Schut, deputy director of the ANVR. Unfortunately, they are not the only ones. We are also out of patience for Aeroflot, El Al, Air Transat and other airlines.

Customers who have booked directly or through their travel agent or their online travel provider will not receive what they are entitled to. This also causes major problems for ANVR travel organizers; they must give the customer a choice for package tours (of which a flight is often part). Acceptance of a voucher is much easier for customers of an ANVR travel organization because, unlike vouchers issued by airlines, the travel vouchers of ANVRtravel organizations are guaranteed by the guarantee fund SGR. If a customer wants a cash refund, or in due course of the SGR-guaranteed voucher, the tour operator must have received the refunds from the package tour suppliers, including the airline's.
Renowned airlines have already repaid amounts or made concrete commitments. But this is not the case with a number of other airlines.
