Britons abroad are now better off traveling home straight away as airlines start canceling flights. The UK lockdown also prohibits all non-essential travel, including travel abroad. Britons on holiday abroad are being warned to return home now as many airlines cancel flights. In response, airlines and tour operators are canceling flights until at least next month.

Tui has canceled all holidays until mid-February departing from Wales and Scotland until January 31. Jet2 has suspended holidays and flights until February 11, while Thomas Cook, along with Virgin, has suspended holidays until next month. EasyJet will continue to operate flights until January 10, mainly repatriation flights, but after that the flight options will decrease enormously.

We urge customers to take these flights as options to travel after this date will become minimal

Ryanair has warned that they will cut flights significantly from January 21 and operate few or no flights from the end of January. With flights being canceled or massively reduced, Brits may have a hard time finding a flight home. Yet Ryanair has little trouble with the British lockdown and indicates that the flights were loss-making. Stopping these flights as a result of the lockdown suits them well.
