How beautiful the world looks under a layer of snow, many people love these winter conditions. With feeling temperatures below -15 or even -20 and the sun, this reminds many people of winter sports. The Elfstedentocht fever also breaks loose, it even leads to discussions in the House of Representatives whether or not it may continue in connection with the corona virus. The winter weather also still causes 'problems' for traffic in our country. Yesterday many people stayed at home because there was a lot of snow everywhere and it was quite slippery, this morning it was again busier on the road. The Dutch Railways have adjusted their timetable and according to the Dutch Railways only sprinters are running today, sprinters can also stop at smaller stations.

In Noord-Holland and Flevoland this morning there was still talk of train failures, this was caused by snow dunes on the track. Despite the fact that NS and ProRail worked with all their might again last night to resolve all disruptions, it is still uncertain on the track and travelers are advised to postpone their journey or, shortly before departure, the travel planner in the keep an eye out. The freezing cold in combination with moisture can cause ice to build up on the overhead lines. The roads can also be treacherously slippery due to snow and snow debris. Rijkswaterstaat Since last weekend has been working with all his might to get most roads free of snow and ice, so that they are reasonably passable again. With 1200 men and 900 cars, they work 24 hours a day to make most roads safe.
