After a fuss in the media about the transport of vaccines by the local croquette farmer, the RIVM has tightened the rules. Vaccines may only be transported by carriers or courier services of hospitals specializing in the transport of medicines. During the announcement of this decision by the RIVM at Nieuwsuur, Telegraaf journalist Wouter de Winter and Léon Tinke were discussing the seriousness of the case. Before Winter it was more of a disappointed professional group that sounded the alarm. Léon Tinke, chairman of the trade association of pharmaceutical wholesalers, has been knocking on the door of the Ministry of Health and RIVM since March to help with the transport of vaccines.

A vaccine is a vulnerable product and yet our corona vaccines are sometimes transported in an amateurish way. Léon Tinke is justifiably concerned when he sees that the vaccines are delivered to the main sites in a fairly well-organized manner. The way in which the corona vaccines subsequently end up in the local care homes is unclear and raises questions. A number of corona vaccines have been used up amateurish manner transported, including by the local croquette supplier. In another transport, vaccines were so mixed up that they had to be destroyed.

Tinke was dumbfounded when he saw the images. “That man is doing his best. But transporting a delicate vaccine is not the same as a croquette sandwich. ” According to the trade association, they have repeatedly offered help to the Ministry of VWS and RIVM with vaccine transport since March last year.
