The commercial court of Nivelles decided that the Antwerp investment company CIM Capital is the new owner of travel organizer Neckermann. CIM Capital takes over 41 Neckermann stores and, with some 110 employees, will resell travel from 7 June. However, the number of shops will be reduced. For example, the stores in Oudenaarde, Dendermonde, Ninove, Eeklo, Kraainem, Hornu and Gilly will not be taken over.

CIM Capital, which has a capital of around 50 million euros, focuses on companies that have been hit by the corona crisis. CIM Capital, together with another candidate, investment company Futura, was interested in making a new start with Neckermann. The commercial court has now ruled that CIM had a better file.

Neckermann is a brand that has existed since 1979 and was one of the largest travel organizations in Belgium. But the bankruptcy of the large British parent company Thomas Cook, two years ago, heralded turbulent times for Neckermann. Back then 500 people were still working at Neckermann. The liberal trade union ACLVB reacts positively to the new buyer. According to trade unionist Els De Coster, it is the best choice for Neckermann's future. In a statement, the new management confirms that customers can also use all vouchers and holiday vouchers in the future.
