The travel sector ANVR is very concerned about the increasing number of infections within the Netherlands, which may soon have disastrous consequences for Dutch people who want to spend their holiday abroad. Nobody, not the consumer and certainly not the travel companies, is waiting for the (travel) network to close around the Netherlands. The sector organization therefore calls on the cabinet, municipalities and other parties involved to check and enforce the measures, so that both the holidaymaker and the travel sector can enjoy the promised beautiful summer.

“We have released numerous measures in the Netherlands -perhaps too early in retrospect - but with the expectation that everyone will adhere to the few rules that still exist, so keep your distance, have yourself tested in the event of complaints and take responsibility. It can't be the case that because of undesirable behavior in nightlife and not getting vaccinated or tested, we as Dutch people will no longer be welcome in other countries and the travel sector will suffer as a result?

With a Europe that is turning yellow and even green, many travelers who are vaccinated or can have a test paid for by the government for free in July and August, after 15 months of being almost completely at a standstill, it will finally be possible again this summer from enjoy your holiday freedom. With a DCC in our pocket, we will come a long way this summer. travel dome ANVR, with its affiliated 300 travel organizations, about 750 travel agencies and 800 independent travel agents, emphasizes once again that 'it doesn't matter where you go, but how you behave'.

“Our travel entrepreneurs have been able to keep their heads above water, partly with government support, especially now that they are able to travel somewhat with a view of the weather, although unfortunately that is only within Europe. But we must prevent entrepreneurs from being restricted again, because a small part of the Dutch population, because of wrong behavior, causes other countries to feel compelled to apply stricter measures. In this way, government support remains necessary for us, while this is not necessary if entrepreneurs can just do what they are good at: organizing trips for consumers who are now ready for it.”
