Leaseboot will open the first showroom for private boat leasing in the Benelux on Monday 6 December. In the experience center along the A7 in Joure, eighty different sloops, tenders and console boats of about twenty different brands are on display, all of which can be leased.

Leaseboot was the first in the Netherlands to start offering private leases for boats in March this year. Initiators Martijn Draaisma and Sander Verheul want to make their own boat accessible and feasible for more people by removing the financial and operational barriers. Until now, private lease was mainly known in the car world. This concept did not yet exist in the Netherlands for boats. According to the two, private leasing of boats fits in with the zeitgeist because, partly in the context of sustainability and the circular economy, the use of products is becoming more important than ownership. In addition, in times of corona it offers more people the opportunity to go outside and get on the water.

In addition to the online platform www.leaseboot.com, where people can choose their own boat, Leaseboot also wanted to create one central, physical place where consumers can feel and see for themselves which boat is most suitable for their wishes. That saves a lot of trips to dealers in the country.

“It is important to us that the consumer really makes the right choice for the right boat and chooses the concept that suits him or her best. The experience center is so much more than an ordinary showroom. We have created a unique place of inspiration that will make the hearts of both new and experienced water sports enthusiasts beat faster.”

The experience center at 11 Marconiweg in Joure will officially open its doors on Monday 6 December at 10.00 am. The festive opening will follow on Wednesday 29 December, for which interested parties can register. The Corona rules are strictly observed. The experience center is open from Wednesday to Friday from 10.00 a.m. to 16.00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10.00 a.m. to 15.00 p.m. It is also possible to schedule an appointment outside the regular opening hours. An appointment can be made for this on the website. In addition to a physical appointment, it is possible to plan a Zoom video meeting.

In addition to consumers, more and more business customers, such as rental companies, are also making use of the opportunity to lease boats. For them, the company offers an operational lease. At Leaseboot, customers sail for a fixed amount per month and, in addition to the use of the boat, maintenance, winter storage, transport, insurance and breakdown assistance are also included. As with lease cars, they only need to arrange a berth for the summer and fuel or electricity themselves.
