They do not withdraw from business operations, emphasizes Carlier.

VanMoof is in a difficult phase and is looking for an experienced manager to manage the turbulent growth of the bicycle repair shop. According to the FD, VanMoof has experienced spectacular growth in recent years, which was accompanied by many defects in bicycles sold and months of waiting times for deliveries and repairs. VanMoof was founded in 2009 and experienced explosive growth, which resulted in growing pains at the company.

CEO Taco Carlier acknowledges that an experienced leader is being sought for the day-to-day management of the company. According to the FD, what makes the search for a new leader more difficult is that the founders do not want to hand over power. They do not withdraw from business operations, emphasizes Carlier. The most important investor in VanMoof is the British Balderton, which is helping in the search for a new manager.

speed pedelecs

The Dutch e-bike company VanMoof will soon expand its range with a new type of bicycle. VanMoof is making the step to speed pedelecs for the first time, so that you can cycle up to 50 km/h with your VanMoof bicycle. The difference between the e-bikes and the new speed pedelec is mainly the top speed. VanMoof's regular e-bikes have a top speed of 25 km/h, which is now doubled. The same rules apply to cycling with a speed pedelec as for moped riders. For example, you must be at least 16 years old, have a moped driving license and you must wear a helmet.

The two VanMoof e-bikes, the S5 and A5, that were presented are, according to Ties Carlier, improved in many ways compared to its two predecessors, the extremely popular S3 and X3, which currently dominate the streets in large cities.
