The agreements also apply to the security guards who work at Rotterdam-The Haque Airport.

According to FNV, the talks between the Royal Schiphol Group and FNV Schiphol and CNV Vakmensen have yielded a negotiated result for the security officers at Schiphol. Joost van Doesburg, campaign manager FNV Schiphol: 'Wages will increase structurally by 20%, the night supplement will increase by 35%.' The agreements also apply to the security guards who work at Rotterdam-The Haque Airport. Van Doesburg hopes that this negotiation result will make working as a security guard at Schiphol sufficiently attractive.

Van Doesburg: 'This could reduce the high workload. But in other places at the airport, major challenges remain when it comes to solving the staff shortage. So we're not there yet.' It is a negotiated result, which means that it will be presented to the members of FNV Schiphol and CNV Vakmensen. Van Doesburg: 'They have the last word.'

night work

From 1-11-2022, a surcharge will be paid on top of the hourly wage of € 2,50 gross per hour for security guards in operational service who work for the Schiphol Group. Van Doesburg: 'That is a structural increase of approximately 20%. If you are in a lower pay scale, the percentage increase is higher than if you are in a higher pay scale.' The increase in the hourly wage is in addition to the €1,40 gross per hour extra that has been paid out since 1-09-2022 as a result of the Schiphol Social Agreement. That was already an effective increase in wages of about 10%.

Also working in the night hours is finally paid better. From 1-11-2022, security guards who start their shifts between 00.00 and before 5:30 will receive an additional 35% surcharge for the hours they work until 6:00. From 2-1-2023, there are still a maximum of ten starting times for starting a shift. Van Doesburg: 'We have also made an agreement to start a working group to explore and discuss improvements in rosters/planning.'

call

In turn, Schiphol Group calls on employers in the security sector to include these agreements in the collective labor agreement for private security. The unions, of course, underline this call. The agreements on improving employment conditions with Schiphol Group are, incidentally, separate from the wage increases as of 1-1-2023 in the Collective Labor Agreement for Private Security.

The agreements also apply to the security guards who work at Rotterdam-The Haque Airport.
