The Cabinet continues to oblige travelers from risk areas to a negative PCR test result when entering the Netherlands by air, train or ship. The cabinet wants to implement this regulation by means of an emergency act. This is to prevent travelers from high-risk areas from taking the corona virus to the Netherlands and causing infections again. The Cabinet announced this yesterday on the website of the National Government. The Dutch State recently lost summary proceedings regarding this test obligation for travelers from risk areas entering our country.

Jeroen Pols, the lawyer of the Virus Waarheid action group has started this case against the Dutch State. This is because his family was in Tanzania and had to do a mandatory corona test when he returned to the Netherlands, according to the NOS. The Cabinet has announced that it will appeal against the decision of the court in The Hague on the mandatory negative test result for travelers who come to the Netherlands by plane, train or ship. The government continues to emphasize that it should only travel when strictly necessary. Holidays and family visits are therefore not covered. People who come from high-risk areas must go to home quarantine for 10 days in the Netherlands. Het kabinet has informed the House of Representatives about this via a letter to parliament.
