The campsites, in four categories, have been assessed on nine aspects. Due to the weighting of the aspects, it is not the campsite with the most votes that automatically wins, but rather the campsite that scores high on a certain part. For the new category of the best small campsite, voters considered the location and the value for money to be the most important aspects. The primary aspect of swimming played an extra large role in determining the best family campsite, followed by sanitary facilities and the price-quality ratio. For the most appreciated rental accommodation, the price-quality ratio, facilities, hygiene and location of the rental accommodation. And for the most beautiful charming campsite, the atmosphere played the biggest role in making the choice. After that, price-quality ratio and peace / nature followed.

Public election

The ANWB has been electing Camping of the Year since 1987. Campsites were once partly judged by a public jury and a jury of camping professionals. This election has now become a real public election: the campsites have been assessed for 100% by the Dutch camping guest. The ANWB reports this to them by means of this message website.
