If you have had a vaccination against corona, you will receive a confirmation. This is, for example, a card or a piece of paper with information about the vaccination. This is not an official vaccination certificate. You will receive confirmation of the vaccination after each injection. It contains information such as the type of vaccine you have received. Even if you receive 2 injections, you will receive a confirmation on paper after each injection.

According to Nieuwsuur, not all GGDs cooperate in registering corona vaccinations in the so-called yellow book. The vaccination booklet is an official, multilingual vaccination registration system of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) and the World Health Organization. This yellow-colored booklet has been used for years to register travel vaccinations, such as the hepatitis vaccine.

There are also reports of recurring IT problems at the GGDs that seem to be unresolved. Employees often become discouraged by the problems they experience with the automation systems.

"Unfortunately, I cannot provide proof of your vaccination. Today is again a big mess with our computers. The printers don't work again! Another Javascript error, no idea what that is. What a mess with the automation I can register that you were here, but I cannot give more as proof of your vaccination. "

Some GGDs refuse to fill in

Nevertheless, the national government reports the following on the website. Do you have a yellow vaccination record? Then the confirmation of the injection against corona can also be included in this booklet if you wish. At the moment there is no official proof of vaccination for corona in the Netherlands. You do not have to show anywhere that you have had a corona pepper. Will there be a vaccination certificate in the future or will countries ask for proof when you travel? Then the government will ensure that these cannot be copied.

"People take it to the GGDs when they get their injection, but some GGDs don't want to fill it in. Then people call us for help, but we can't do anything"

According to SDU, this is particularly the case in GGD regions Haaglanden, Drenthe and North and East Gelderland. The vaccination invitations sent by the RIVM do not state that the invitee can take the booklet with them.

no decision

The Netherlands has not yet taken a decision on a vaccination certificate for travel abroad. No decision has yet been taken on this at an international and European level. This is partly due to the following reason: it is not yet clear whether someone is still contagious after vaccination and can still transmit the virus. The Netherlands does, however, work together with several European countries on agreements.
