Sun and tropical hot. These are the ingredients for a successful holiday and you don't have to book them now. Holidaying in our own country at such temperatures does have consequences for our mobility. Frank Deboosere recommends drinking plenty of water. It is very important that you do not get too hot when the temperatures rise.

In Belgium, NMBS is canceling peak hour trains. This concerns trains that are parked outside in full sun during the day, or train stock that is too sensitive to extreme heat. The Dutch NS is also taking measures, but does not expect any problems. ProRail and the carriers are taking measures to prevent nuisance for passengers, but we cannot rule out disruptions. That is why the advice is: take a bottle of water with you on the train and check your travel planner in advance.

Work is taking place on the track between Geldermalsen and Utrecht. The NS has already advised travelers to avoid the route via this station. Due to a shortage of bus drivers, there are not enough buses to carry the normal number of travelers. The work on the track itself is also affected by the heat. Contractors have agreements (heat protocols) to take measures there, such as extra breaks and letting equipment cool down.

The protocol means that recovery companies help motorists with breakdowns along the road as quickly as possible and take them to a gas station or parking lot. Road users are advised to prepare well and to take sufficient drinking water with them. It is also wise to umbrella to take with you, which can serve as an umbrella while waiting in the event of a breakdown along the road.
